UNIQA-Familientag 2017

The „UNIQA-Familientag 2017“ on october 2017 at the Kunsthaus Graz was an event for familys and visitors of every age who were invited to explore the museum in an interactive and open way. Besides the artist Gerald Hartwig and the architect Clemens Luster, who have prepared a drawing station at the Needle of the museum, I was invited to hold a drawing workshop with different techniques and possibilities for the guests. The main question of the event was the meaning of space in citys, and Graz itself. Pictures below.

Ansichtssache: Portäts zeichnen

08.12.2017 / Neue Galerie Graz – Universalmuseum Johanneum

In december 2017 I get the change to do a interactive drawing – art project in a studio in collaboration with the styrian state museum „Neue Galerie Graz“. Based on the main exhibition „Wer bist du? Portraits aus 200 Jahren“ I try to find a way between the exhibition and the practical portrait creation in alternative ways. (see pictures below)

My Idea: Just like in previous projects and workshops I try to figure out how to draw/create in „non-common-sense ways“ and where to find a (brider) connection between people and (their) art/drawings. With the focus and the possibility for visitors to combine different forms of creative expression (photography, collage, drawing, painting…), participants of every age should be able to take part of it.

To take away the „fear of the white paper“ and in thinking about the form of presentation and the material I installed a beamer/projectors, a big transparent plexiglass wall, mirrors and several drawing/painting utilities. A table with classic-portrait-drawing materials/instructions was positioned at the centre of the studio.

Sketches

Some of my sketches (the ones i can show in public 😉 )

I normally use sketches for concept works or project / drawing ideas or idea catching. Most of the time they´re very personal. Most of the time not visible.

The Big Draw 2016

big1.JPGIn October 2016 I get the change to be a part of the „BIG DRAW FESTIVAL“ @ Kunsthaus Graz and lead a workshop-station/exhibition at this drawing event/group exhibition.

My Concept: Based on the Motto STEAM („Science,Technology, Engineering and Maths“), I tried to create an interactive drawing station for every visitor. With the language of drawing, I wanted to invent them as a drawer and achieve a connection between the people and the pictures they create. Every visitor was free to choose their own motives/papers or a sketch from me (a white paper is not very easy for everyone).  For me it was all about humanity behind the Science, Technology, Engeneering, Maths and so on – so I tried to find a connection between the individual character drawings and connected them on the glass wall of the Kunsthaus Graz. In the center of this station/exhibition was the group drawing process and the network between the individual drawings. (see pictures and video below)

About “THE BIG DRAW”: The Big Draw Festivial is an international art-festival and currently the largest drawing festival in the world. http://www.thebigdraw.org/about-the-big-draw-festival

„Mach mich fertig!
